09/15/2023 – Friday Flashback with Olivia

Today’s Friday Flashback is with house panther Olivia who likes to be called Baby Panther. Fairly recently, we went through a health scare with her that may have been pancreatitis. She lost about a pound and a half and all desire to do much of anything.

Today, she’s slowly regaining weight and is jumping up on the kitchen counters, begging for cheese (this is new behavior), and sniffs noses with just about anyone (another new development).

Baby Panther Olivia came to us in 2012 as a BOGO kitten adoption event deal; Buy One, Get One free. We were originally there to inquire about baby kitten Quint.

She easily won our hearts and eventually, after spending a month in a bedroom with Quint in which they settled all their hissy kitten-y differences, she won his heart too.

Olivia as a young teen. So serious, yet edgy!

Still likes sitting in the sun, still loves her brother Quint, still the baby panther of the house.

Neighborhood visitor Lloyd comes and goes on his own schedule. He’s a sweetheart. We think he lives in the next neighborhood over because sometimes, Mom sees Lloyd and Colby crossing the street at oh-dark-thirty in the morning when she’s leaving for work. Stay safe, you boys.

We’ve been saving this photo for several months, hoping to see this black and white, medium fur kitty with a kinked tail again. Nope, but after talking to Murray/Mr. G’s parents, we now know this is one of Mr. G’s brothers. They said he usually sticks close to home, and we believe them.

One of the black and white twins visits often to eat from one of our feeding stations. His twin is very shy and sticks close to home two streets over, like good shy kitties should.

Neighbor cat P stops by at least once a day to check out food in the stations and to drink from her personal water fountain out back. She’s a sweetie who always welcomes a petting. We miss her orange brother W who’s been missing for two years. W used to roam the fields for baby bunnies and was known to hang out at a welcoming house that backs up to the bunny fields.

We haven’t seen Tippy or the mystery gray cat since February. We’ve had a lot of people move from our area since and can only hope they took their kitties with them. We wish all our missing visitors well and hope they’re having great new adventures wherever they may be.
