A big annoyance around here lately is a low battery for one of our house alarms. The really big annoyance is that Dad can’t remember exactly which zone that low battery is at, and there are 13 zones to pick from. A chirping alarm that sounds remarkably similar to a smoke detector chirp is extremely worrisome for Mom and cats alike. Mom changed out all the batteries to all the smoke detectors last winter and you might think that bit of knowledge might help her anxiety level.
Nope.
And that she can’t do anything about the chirp until after picking up Dad from work which is hours away, hoping his memory is somehow jogged during the drive home, is extra worrisome.
Meanwhile, cats are hiding and Mom is endlessly wandering the house sniffing the air and looking for any kind of trouble. And all the cat carriers are out and at the ready just in case.
Sorry, kitties!

Finally, batteries have been changed and no more chirping. Oddly enough, Tessa seems to be irritated at that. Maybe she liked it?
