Viola’s a talkie girl. She has a lot to say and even more to say if you get her going. Here’s a snippet of a normal daily conversation:

What? What do you want? Can’t you see I need brushies?
Mom, tell Dad I need brushies. And attention. After all, I am cute!
Crunchies?
Nap? In this box, which I will remind you is not THE box so, are you kidding me?
Dad, where’s a suitable box? Don’t tell me you don’t have one.
Snuggles? Yes, after brushies.
Mom!! I need a better box! I’m only sitting in this one because someone has to.
Brushies? Yes, now? I’ve been asking all day!
Why does that other cat look at me like that? Does she want this box? Give it to her!
MOM!!! That brush in the drawer needs me!

Mr. G is a little more camouflaged today but his brother Stubby/Bunny isn’t!

We’ve been pre-approved for taking Friday off from blogging. That may be due in part to the amount of clutter and dust we’re kicking up to accommodate Mom’s latest organizing spree – the under the stairs closet that contains things that haven’t seen the light of day in well over a decade, namely gorgeous one-of-a-kind Christmas ornaments (five flip-top boxes full). And here we are, not having put up a Christmas tree in twelve long years because, well, Tessa mostly. It’s highly unlikely we’ll ever have a tree again. What does one do with stuff like this?

Never mind the fact there are three large water bowls around the house, all kept sparkling clean ninety-nine point nine three percent of the time, apparently, none will ever match the tastiness of a plain, old kitchen faucet.

Despite the decade living under the same roof day in and day out, Tessa will always have a glare to send to Viola. Tessa lives for glaring at this, that, and everything and has a particular fondness for sending her most serious glares Viola’s way.

On the other hand, Viola usually reacts to Tessa’s glares with, “What’s her problem today?”

Ever the good boy who avoids all confrontation all of the time, Quint knows what’s important: A good hearty breakfast sprinkled with tasty Fortiflora. Yums!

There’s Mr. G, all comfy on a chair, waiting for someone to come bring him some pets and a brushing.

05/17/2024 – Friday Flashback with Quint

Today, we’re flashing back to handsome boy Quint whom we adopted late in the summer of August 2012. He was one of a few kittens left over during a big adoption event at our local pet supply supermarket. It sounds odd to say that; that he wasn’t adopted then, he being so handsome, snuggly, and polite with the other kittens in his same cage. But everyone else’s loss was our gain. We would have loved to have seen his siblings had any been there for adoption with him. Were they all boys or girls? Were they as long and with big ears as him? Were they the same color? We’ll never know. We just know we got the best!

We leave this flashback with one of our favorite Quint photos – His first, even before he stepped foot outside the carrier. He finally grew into his ears, not quite his long, long tail, and has never grown out of being a perfect gentleman. Quint truly is one of the best cats ever.
