Mom: “PIA, NO!”
(To clarify why Mom yelled NO at Pia: On the other side of the wide shelf Miss Newton is lying on is the twenty foot drop to the foyer floor (the one Danger Cat Tessa intentionally launched herself down onto back in September. Add Pia’s extra toe fluff to one smooth shelf surface and we were afraid Pia would slide right off and over the edge. So this wouldn’t happen in the future, we’ve moved the chair Pia was attempting to jump from a few feet further from the shelf. Whew!)
Whew is right. What impresses us, though, is that Pia listened. LOL.
Well…..kind of. You know how cats are…LOL!
OH…oh…. that 20 food drop would be a real surprise… No parachute, eh?
Have a great weekend.
hugs, Max, Bugsy and Knuckles
Parachutes on cats, hmmm…
yeah, we suspect that sticking that landing may have been painful…..
Oh my good golly gosh. Lucky you were there to see what could happen. Have a fabulous Friday.
best wishes Molly

Oh Pia, we are so glad that Mom stopped you. We sure don’t want a hurt kitty. That did look like a fun jump. You all stay safe and take care.
Wow, that was an accident just waiting to happen! That would NOT have been fun!
Yep, they often want to be where the other one is, no matter what might happen to them in there “getting there”!
Love your “furmily” and thanks for stopping by Kittens ‘n Things.
Oh my! We are so glad that Miss Pia listened to her mom. She could’ve taken Miss Newton right with her. Whew!
Harry, Dexter and Tipp
Good save, Mom!
Purrs,
The Chans
Another disaster averted. Don’t you hate it when they yell no and keep you from going some place you want to go? It happens here too.
I think you mis-heard, she said GO!
Stay safe Miss Pia!
Hey….are Pia and Allie related? Mom says Allie’s last name is really NO! Like….Allie NO!
The Florida Furkids
EEEK! Rumblemum is afraid of heights, and your story made her break into a cold sweat! You guys be careful!
Wow! We was thinking your Mommy was kinda mean but now we say, WHEW!!! But we wonder….how did Miss Newton get there???
Thank you for asking! Miss Newton is a very good jumper and doesn’t have much fur between her toe beans. Basically, she sticks all her landings. She’s very precise and understands physics exceptionally well. Not to imply Pia doesn’t do any of those things well, but….her skillz involve purring, demanding petting, hollering for Mom and swishing her glorious tail, and definitely not jumping or leaping.
Oh my, glad Pia stopped!! Big Whew!!
Yikes. Good thing Pia stopped. No way any of the cats in this household would have if they thought there was something good at the other end of that jump!
Way to listen to the Mom, Pia! We wouldn’t want to see you get hurt, after all!
That would be quite a drop! I am glad Pia didn’t take the plunge.
Whew! That was a close call!
OMC I 20′ drop … way way scarey … love the pics and your blog!
Good save! But I am sure they will find something else to get into!
oh my CAT! Our hearts just stopped! That was purrty dangerous indeed!!
O Mom! What a spoilsport!
That must have been some loud and emphatic “No” to stop Pia in her tracks like that!
Oh wow! Pia!!! Phew – that was close!! Take care
x
Phew is right. Crisis averted even if mom is no fun. What a good girl Pia is! Cute pics! 🙂
Phew! That was a close shave! We have given you a star to add to your Blog of the Year award.
okey dokey…just gave my Mom a heart attack!! We had something like that at our other house, and she was always afraid I would decide to launch myself from the upstairs walk way down to the next level entry…Pia, when you hear “NO” at the top of a huMom’s lungs, best to do as told…just sayin’…Paw pats, Savannah
We woulda said “go for it”
