Over the weekend, I visited a garden. There were lots of good smells and pretty colors that I couldn’t seem to get enough of. So my Dad and I stayed for as long as it took for me to take in everything, twice! He said I was a very good boy. We walked around and around and I sniffed every flower I could. I loved being outdoors!

When I finally was ready to come back inside, my painting studio was waiting and I got right to work recreating what I’d seen. For this small run of four paintings on paper, I kept the focus on the purples, lavenders and pinks of the flowers (great whiffs!) with a light touch of soft green and yellow. I told Mom I need to visit the garden more often and I think I have her convinced that’s a good idea.

Yep, that’s what I kept telling my Dad. So we went around twice so I could sniff everything I missed! I love my Dad that way.

Trouts off to you, buddies! Good thing I like flowers so much. There were LOTS of birdies vying for my attention out there but I just thought, “WWTTTD…What would those trout-talkin’ tabbies do?” and so, I ignored them.

Thank you! My mom says she’ll set up my studio again mid-week after I get more time out in the garden. I LOVE painting on canvas and can’t wait to see what I’ll do!
