If you missed the Christmas Eve news, Illy and Winter found their forever home together with the help of Santa!
The only thing that’s better than one kitten for Christmas, is two kittens for Christmas!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Christmas Day for the Colehaus Cats was a day of wonder filled with packages of treats and toys, stolen bits of ham, lots of dad attention, napping on a napping mom (who caught dad’s cold for Christmas and missed everything!), sharing cranberry rolls and getting a fresh room for a fresh start.
The Santa Paws package was gone through pretty thoroughly with everyone settling on favorite things. Olivia still can’t decide between treats or toys. Thank you again, Henry and Rosie (and Mom Cindy and Dad Jim) of A House with Two Cats!
Some toy selections were unexpected. Ruby likes the jingle balls, for example. Not to chase. Just to hold onto.
We all figured Quint would fall in love with the purple mousie. He selected that as his own but only after giving everyone else a chance to claim it. He’s so thoughtful that way.
Tessa, surprisingly enough, did not get a lump of cold (or a Justin Bieber CD!), but was quick to grab the Nip Banana.
And then shared it with Miss Newton!
…who LOVES Nip Naners…
…and shared it with Pia…
…who LOVES Nip Naners and then got busy putting some serious noms on one of the corners. But mom saved the day by saving the naner from complete and total Pia destruction!
After Illy and Winter left for their forever home on Christmas eve, we moved Erinn Zuzu and Viola back into the master suite for a while (where Erinn gave birth) with Maxx and Ruby and then, cleaned the kitten room from top to bottom. Just before the clock ticked over to Christmas day, we gave back the room, once again becoming the Cat Den, to the Colehaus Cat residents to enjoy as they did before the Niblets entered our lives. No longer is the door shut to the room with sounds of scampering, playful kittens coming from within. Everyone is free to come and go as they please. It was our Christmas present to Miss Newton, Tessa, Pia, Quint and Olivia (and the sometimes visiting Maxx and Ruby).
Secretly, we hoped this would help restore a sense of peace and togetherness. And that Tessa would get past her behavioral pee problem. And do you know what happened?
A Christmas miracle! Not one pee incident since! Tessa just wanted the room back, just as we figured. Everyone else who wanders the house loved rediscovering their room and all is well again!
We hope you all had a good Christmas day, a great Boxing day and are looking forward to the year ahead. Tomorrow, we reveal a big surprise for Erinn Zuzu and the last and littlest Niblet, Viola!
Those presents were sure well received. Everyone had a good time! We can’t wait for the surprise tomorrow.
We are happy to hear that Illy and Winter went to their new home
for Christmas 🙂
Even better is all the fun you kitties had and also getting your room back 🙂
Purrs for your Mom and Dad with their colds.

We’re so happy for Illy and Winter and to hear that everyone is happy at your place again. We hope your Mom and Dad feel better soon.

The nip banana seems to be a firm if rather soggy favourite. Quint looks very protective of his purple mousie and we wouldn’t like to try and steal it!
We hope your Mom and Dad soon start to recover from their colds. We are all excited about tomorrow’s post.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

What an exciting Christmas everyone had. So nice to see everyone sharing the toys. Mom told us we had to share and we did so she was proud of us. As we move towards another year, we hope all of you have a peaceful and joyous New Year! We’re so glad we’re part of your lives and that you’re part of ours. We are also super happy to see Illy and Winter’s new Mom and Dad. They look like they are going to be wonderful parents! 🙂
The nip nana really cracked us up. So pleased it was a happy holiday.
Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
Now the kittens can play together forever. I think that is marvelous. Thanks for sharing the photos of everyone playing with their new toys. I’ll have to buy my gang a nana .. I sent one to my grand kitty and I hear she loved it.

Hooray for Illy and Winter (and their new family)! We love that Christmas miracle — sounds like a very merry Christmas for the Colehaus Cats. 🙂
Such happy news, except for the human with the cold. At least it was close to purrfect!
I think a catnip banana should be part of your anual celebration – too cute!
