Our heater was repaired yesterday, but Quint isn’t ready to give up his heating mat just yet. Very smart boy! Outside, our area is currently experiencing sub-degree temperatures, howling wind, and freezing rain, on top of yesterday’s snow and the first round of freezing rain. Because Mom is “old,” as someone she works with recently suggested, that means Mom watches the local weather forecasters and knew this was coming. We’re prepared. She also knows most of the U.S. is going through blizzardy, snowy, freezing weather right now and she hopes everyone is hanging in there as best they can with what they have.
Also outside, Dad’s made sure our feeding stations are full of good kibble and the nearby water bowl is kept mostly defrosted. Temperatures here might reach 22 degrees today. Tippy looks to be doing well, even if he still won’t let anyone come within four feet of him. Out back in the fountain that we keep running 24/7/365, ice is forming on the stone pillars, the auto water refill is keeping up nicely, and Murray has been spotted drinking when he’s not hanging out under a bush watching the dozens of birds drinking and bathing close by. He won’t let anyone get close to him, either. The good thing is, we know Murray’s staying in one of our heated feral shelters. He should be okay. No sign of Lloyd for the past week. He knows to come here for food, water, and warmth if he can.
Inside where it’s finally warm, Tessa’s chill-axing and thinks everyone should take the cue from her. We are stocked with food and kibble to get us through this frozen spell that’s expected to go through Christmas day. Our heater is fixed and we have nowhere we’re expected to go until next week.
Thank you SO MUCH for all the email and snail mail Christmas cards we’ve received! You are our Christmas angels. We save opening most of these until Christmas eve and go to bed with the feel of warmth and caring in our hearts. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. Stay safe and warm, and thank you for visiting us today!
The folks at Colehaus Cats with Tessa, Pia Bean, Quint, Olivia, Viola and all the outside visitors.

Purrs for the outdoor kitties. So good that they have a place to come to for food and water and shelter. Tessa looks cozy indoors. Purrs that every cat and person stays warm and healthy through these Winter months.
Merry Christmas!!!
Purrs, Julie
We are on the front edge of what you’ve had for awhile; it’s brutally cold, and the wind is fierce.
Stay toasty, my friends!
I love your tradition of opening cards on Christmas Eve! Stay warm, and purrs for the outdoor kitties!
I hope Lloyd is OK. I am glad your heat is fixed. Hope you all have a merry Christmas and a better 2023. XO
I luv heating pads too!
We’re so glad your heat is fixed. The weather is so brutal in so much of the U.S. Stay safe and stay warm. Merry Christmas Eve, sweet pals. XO
