Hmm, makes you rethink that little altercation you and Pia had last week, doesn’t it, Viola? We’re pretty sure it’s out of our hands now, little one. But, there’s always next year . . .
Today is Festivus, the day for airing grievances and boy, do we ever have some grievances. But thinking about it a second time, we realize almost everyone has some grievances this year. Olivia posted hers in her Dear Santa letter just the other day, for example. Ours would be small, petty even, compared to others. Sure, we’re still struggling. Sure, we’re still worried about losing our house (and for a good, legitimate reason – we’ll be out of all savings come September at the latest, and Dad still doesn’t have a living wage job). But we’re still together and the cats still have good food. All else is unimportant this holiday season. We are together and together, we’ll figure something out. Now is the time to celebrate that togetherness by snuggling close and counting our blessings.
Thank you for visiting and reading us. Thank you Friends of Colehaus for watching out for us and being our angels over the year. And thank you for just being there. No grievances here today. No celebrating an aluminum pole. No feats of strength. Just lots and lots of love.
