“Hey everyone! These bells are jingling all by themselves. I’m not making them do it, either. I think they’re trying to say something.”
“Let me listen. Maybe you’re hearing things. Are they jingling or ringing? I’ve heard of sleigh bells ringing. Maybe we have real life sleigh bells here. Anyone know if these are real sleigh bells? Anyone lose their sleigh bells, because . . . hmm, yep, these are ringing. Or maybe jingling. Who’s the bell expert here?”
“Lemme hear. Okay, you bells, are you jingling or ringing? Don’t be shy. Lemme see what you’ve got.”
Sometime later . . .
“Nope, I don’t hear a thing, which extends my long-held position on trusting whatever my baby sister says. I don’t.”
“Let me see if I can find any information. Okay, plastic pine, tell us what you know about those bells. Are they ringing or jingling? Tell me and I won’t bite you too hard.”
“I think you’re all looney. Look at you all, intimidating bells, threatening to bite Mom’s Christmas props. Is this what we’ve become? Bullies? To what? Some shiny things? We’re cats, for the love of Santa!”
“Gee, maybe now I’m kind of sorry I said anything.”
“Oh, who asked you anyway?”
Mom thinks maybe multiple cats deserve lumps of coal this Christmas.
Okay, fine. I’ve got something better to take care of anyway.

Those bells definitely jingle. We put some like that around the bottom of the tree for Eric to play with. At least it stopped him climbing up and pulling the Christmas tree down!
It’s a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, kitties!
Happy Holidays!
