Don’t do it, Mom. Do not do it!
Tessa’s our oldest cat, at about ten and a half years old. She’s starting to slow down a bit, thinks twice (most of the time) before jumping up on the kitchen counter or across the abyss from the island to the countertop, and is starting to snuggle more.
Mom, don’t go there!
And, she’s started to give kisses. On the lips kinds of kisses. Oh, Tessa. We knew you’d eventually grow into the sweetest kitty ever!
Oh, Mom! Why? My reputation is ruined now!
Kisses? Did someone say they needed a kiss? If so, I’m your girl!

Tessa, we won’t tell anyone that you are mellowing!
It’s not like the entire interwebs already knows, since it’s on your blog.
Nope, we’ll stay mum.
Everyone has a soft side, Tessa. It’s not a bad thing.
Nothing to be ashamed of, Tessa. It keeps the humans happy.
Marley: It’s OK Tessa. I can’t jump so well anymore either. Ta get ta the dining room table (so I can flop on the newspaper and get full attention – and wire-brushies), I need a chair to get halfway up for the 2nd jump!
That is so sweet.
Nothing wrong with being a lovebug!
That doesn’t ruin your reputation, Tessa. It ENHANCES it!
