It’s back to a normal Monday around here. Mom’s back on her regular work schedule after 2 weeks of jury duty and Dad’s back to work from PTO time off. It seems certain kitties may have created their own schedules during that time and just perhaps, a return to normalcy disrupted that. Quint voiced a bunch of complaints, most of which revolved why someone hadn’t been sitting on a couch lately next to his fort offering soft, cooing compliments on how good a boy he is. Gee, demanding much, sweet boy?
Each evening, when Mom arrived home was much like any other night when she arrives home for Tessa. “What? Oh, it’s you,” she always seems to say but with extra squinty eyes and an indifferent attitude. Thanks for making Mom feel welcome and important, tuxie girl.
“Mom, I’m glad to see you . . . just don’t take my spot, okay?”
Oh, so this is your favorite spot now? Don’t worry. No one will ever take your favorite kitchen chair spot, little niblet. We’re glad to see you, too.

Cats cannot show affection; it’s in the Housecat Feline Code of Conduct.
Dearest Carole and Steve,
Kitties are very much routine animals and they certainly will be thrown off when one of the human Parents is away or whatever.
Certainly don’t agree with Vicky’s statement that cats cannot show affection—they sure DO!
Glad that jury duty is over for you.
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
I would come and sit by you if I could, Quint!
Two weeks of jury duty- yikes. I hope they paid you. XO
They will, eventually. $10 a day plus mileage from my zip code to the courthouse.
Such little characters!
Things are getting back to normal, I hope, whatever that entails.
Our kitties get used to routines, too. COD forbid we go and do something a little different. 😉
