Inspector Pia’s inspecting a bit of water someone left on the new shower doors, knowing someone will be very displeased if after becoming a habit, someone has to figure out how to get the hard water spots and build-up off such pretty, pretty glass without destroying it.
Mom, did you just make life more difficult for yourself? Don’t expect me to come in and lick these drips up every morning!
Mom’s requesting all your best tips and tricks on keeping glass doors and shower tile free of hard water spots without ruining grout [ugh] or scratching chrome and glass, beyond simply wiping everything down immediately after showering. In a perfect world, our shower would continue to look like this a year from now:
Additionally, the toilet was straightened (it leaned over a quarter inch to the right) and the window frame has been updated to white from dated, very-oranged and scratched up wood. Tessa, will you please stop leaping from the counter to the too-narrow-for-you window sill?
To say we are pleased would be the understatement of the year. Thank you all who commented and hung with us throughout this ten-month ordeal. In a couple of weeks, we hope to get work started on fixing that hole in our ceiling. We’re not expecting that to be completed until after the new year but we’re hopeful that miracles still happen here and there, even in the home repair business.
Olivia’s hopeful we’ll stop talking about the bathroom this and the bathroom that and talk more about doling out brushies and combings and maybe one of those catnip chicken treats!

Maybe a squeegee?
Lovely bathroom; wishing you many years of enjoyment!
Of course, Olivia…the world revolves around cats, after all.
Have you ever tried the homemade spray? After a shower you spray it all around. It’s a spray bottle with mostly water, Jet Dry (the dishwasher rinse agent), vinegar, and a tiny amount of dish soap. You can probably find a recipe for the correct ratios.
The shower looks lovely. You must be so happy and relieved.
Hooray for progress!! I use a squeegee too (I use the Ettore brand because I think some window washers use that brand).
Your bathroom looks great. Glad you got your shower doors. 🙂
It looks wonderful! This has sure been an ordeal for all of you.
Europeans use squeegees after showers, too.
OOH! It looks soooo great. It must be wonderful to have it done. 🙂
