Months ago, we captured a photo of a new outside visitor to the Colehaus garden. He wouldn’t come within 25 feet of Mom who tried luring him near with a crinkly treat bag, and Mom so badly wants to get a better look at him. He did eat a few treats we left out in one of the feeding stations the other day, or we’re pretty certain he was the one who gobbled them down. Still, no dice on showing any sign of friendliness. He takes off like a shot at the sound of human voices, even faster at the sight of anyone nearby.
So imagine Mom stifling a SQEEEE when she looked out our front window at cold, pouring rain and saw this same kitty napping on a chair cushion. She had to stick her head in a closet to let out a squeak of joy!
We’ve named him Murray and made extra sure we didn’t scare him off (sorry for the poor photo). We hope he discovers the feral shelters in the backyard now that new warming mats and fresh straw are in. He might fit into one. We remember another gorgeous tabby boy who was too big to fit into those shelters and the group of raccoons that lived under a backyard neighbor’s deck who took him into their den for the winter. Mac made it okay, and with daily kibble we put out in the feeding stations in our side yard, we hope Murray will, too.

We’re sure he knows your house is a good place to hang out.
Purring for Murray to accept your accommodations!
Here’s hoping Murray can settle in for the winter !
He’s so cute! And what an amazing story about the raccoons!!!
Murray is a cutie. I hope he finds your warm shelter. XO
We are pretty sure that Murray will find the feral accomodations. And racoons are funny animals. They get along well with Kozmo and me and Lucifer (a neighbor cat), but they sure don’t like Merle (across the street). Keep being AWESOME! Purrs Marv
we sure hope Murray figures out the nice accommodations at Colehaus!
He is a handsome boy. I hope he makes use of the shelters.
