. . . and quite frankly, all its scurrying about, digging here and there around the base of those flowers you like, flinging teensy bits of bark mulch to and fro and in my general direction, mind you, all in search of a tasty grub or spider snack, disrupted my overnight sleep, and as I already have to tolerate the sniffing and scruffling of those stripey raccoon visitors that seem to think this yard is theirs night after night, well, I was not about to put up with the possibility of this invasive vole* growing to that size left unchecked, and giving me more grief than any sweet, visiting cat should have to deal with, so I pounced and deaded it for you.
