We thank every one of you who visited, who commented, who hugged your kitties and loved ones Wednesday after we posted the passing of our Ruby. Your thoughts and words have always, and will always mean the world to us.
We’ll forever miss Ruby, especially each night at bedtime when she was always there, impatient to snuggle and call the day to an end. Her beloved tower, such a big, tall thing for the only cat in our room to use it, now cleaned and vacuumed of fur, looked so lost and empty. Overnight, we left our bedroom door open for the first time since December 2012 when we brought foster Ruby home before Christmas, and this morning, we woke to find Viola on the top perch and Quint in Ruby’s cubby hole, both sleeping deep and peacefully. It’s painful to move on, but to know her tower will be loved by her brother and baby sister is a sweet, bittersweet feeling that will slowly, someday, fill the hole in our hearts.
And so will your good thoughts and love. Thank you.

Celebrating Black Cat Appreciation Day, we present Olivia:
You know, this isn’t a bad photo of you, Olivia.
I’m blurry.
Well, yeah, there is that. But Mom got your eyes mostly in focus this time. It is Black Cat Appreciation Day and we appreciate you, our house panther, our only house panther.
Still blurry.
It’s hard to photograph house panthers, Olivia. Would you rather be something else today?
*thinking* . . . I . . . think, today, I’ll be . . . aloof.
Oh, like you being aloof is any different from every other day exactly how?

You’re still here? It’s over. Go home.
*waves paw* Go.
Okay, before you go, here’s an eighty-piece online jigsaw puzzle of Olivia’s photo above. Go have fun!
We sure understand the hurt. Hey Olivia, you’re gorgeous sweetie. We have 3 black cats in our feral family and they are super special too.
We grieve with you, on your loss of Ruby and Sunny, etc. It’s great to see that Ruby’s Tower now has new resident, though! Olivia, you’ve cracked me up with your aloofness! Housepanthers ROCK!
We’ve sure been thinking of you all and hope things are calm for a long, long time.
thank you for sharing Olivia with us today (thank you your highness). We miss our Tipp dearly on Black Cat day.
Olivia, you do Black Cat Appreciation Day YOUR way!
Happy Black Cat Day Olivia our little black beauty.
We are so glad the tower is being loved.
Hugs madi and mom
I’m happy the tower is being loved too, but it sure is hard to not see the chief resident except in your heart.
It’s a very sad time, but we are glad that others are loving the tower now. Olivia, you are always very beautiful.

We hope you get some extra treats today, Olivia. Happy Black Cat Day.
Black cats are so perfect – just like Olivia demonstrates nobly 😉
I love that white patch – Ellie has a few of those.
My thoughts have been with you knowing the pain you are going through.
Olivia is a beautiful house panther. I will be back tomorrow to do the puzzle.
A celebration worthy of Black Cats and I know they will approve
* quiet hug from us *
Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day Olivia. I am off to do the puzzle. XO
Happy Black Cat Day Olivia! And we’re sending everyone big hugs – it’s so sad about Ruby.
Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day, Olivia. We totally appreciate you EVERY day, but today, we send you (and our own Gracie and Ava, and housepanthers everywhere) extra love. 🙂
Olivia, you are too funny with your Ferris Bueller’s Day Off reference! I hope you enjoyed your special day.
Well, Olivia, at least we got to enjoy seeing you on Black Cat Appreciation day, even if you didn’t care to be enjoyed. You are a beautiful house panfur. So sad to look at the place where Ruby loved to hang out and not see her. Viola and Quint are probably taking their opportunity to say good-bye. You’ll remain in our prayers as you continue to grieve. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
