It’s that time of year. Hot weather, sweaty weather, melty weather, fur mats weather. Mom always knows what to do.
Pia is much happier with her back fur mats removed and with a cooler feel. Think of it as a kind of reverse mohawk look. Someday, she’ll actually let Mom clip those longer-than-long smelly pantaloons, too!
It’s also the time of year Mom takes a bit of time off from blogging to recharge (while still working 40+ hours a week doing manual labor) and to get some home repair things done. This year her list includes: Fixing the garage door jam surround that’s rotting (1 day fix), touch base with window blind people, yet again, to find out when, if ever, our spring-ordered, heat-blocking blinds will arrive AND be installed (1/2 hour of work, weeks upon weeks of continued angst over already paying for this and getting nothing in return), backyard fountain Hudson valve repositioning (2-3 day fix), clear out cat den closet for Craigslist sale/donation items (2 days work), and repaint outdoor house trim (4-5 day job).
Mom says she’ll relax this coming winter. Maybe. Tessa’s skeptical. Not sure why.
See you in a week or two!

Sounds like Mom is one busy woman! There is something about sunny weather that reminds us all of our very long to-do lists! Pia, you look cool and happy, I like the reverse mohawk – MOL!
Yikes, that’s quite a list! But, our mom is the same way. She’s always finding stuff to do around here.
That’s a big list. We hope the heat blocking blinds get there before the warm weather leaves.
The Florida Furkids
Enjoy your time off ! Purrs !
When you’ve got the matts, there’s nothin’ better than clippin’ some of ’em off. NOTHIN’ better. NOTHIN’! Not that I would know, purrsonally, on account of my bein’ short-haired but Rushy and Andy had fur that would matt if you looked at it the wrong way. MOUSES!
That’s a nice kitten starter kit! Have a good break and we’ll see you soon!
Yes, your mom deserves a break even though we will miss you. XO
Look at that removed Floof! It almost has a life of its own. Our Mom is re-painting the the kitchen, plus the cupboards (inside and out) and the counter tops and a new back splash…it is taking forever because of the heat.
Geez! You have WAY too much work to do. 🙁
I hope you get lots done so you can relax at bit!
The PO’M got a good brushing yesterday; man oh man, what a pile of fur!
It’s easier when he’s in my lap, and he seems to enjoy it.
Good luck on your chore list; see you when you get back.
Nice reverse mohawk, Pia! And wow, your mom sure has an ambitious list of stuff to get done doing her recharge. See you soon! 🙂
The brushed fur is great. TBT saved ours, but after the flea attack, he has been thorough in getting rid of everything. Well, it’s not like we needed our old furs annyway.
Looking cool, Pia! Your mom is very busy.
