Good-bye July. You were very hot and dry with some scorcher days that we did not like, and per our usual request, wished you would have given us some rain. Summer’s half over and while this makes us happy, at the same time it makes us a bit sad. Another summer winding down spent working, working, working, and clearly, without enough time to spend at home standing guard over wary Rainier cherries. Pia says she’ll keep an eye on them. Uh, yeah. Right.

Dearest Carole and Steve,
Well, July for our garden has been way too wet!
Mushrooms are showing up everywhere on the grass clippings.
The sad thing is that a downed huge tree in our adjacent wood garden cannot yet be removed because of the mud… Also having the underbrush cut is not doable right now. Neither for taking up the damaged center wooden bridge over our creek.
One day when it dries out, it will get done. Wish we could have shared some of that rain…
Rainer Cherries remind me of my childhood, back in The Netherlands we had a tree of them.
Pia loves to ‘stalk’ them it looks like!
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Seriously, that is the most adorable pic of Pia ‘monitoring’ the cherries!

Sweet Pia with her cherries.
Good job Pia! XO
Good riddance, July! It’s been hot and wet here. Sure wish we could send you some rain.
July is often a mixed bag. Let’s hope August doesn’t get hotter.
July was hot and sticky here, too. Hey, Pia, are you gonna do some whappin’?
