A few weeks ago, a friend asked Mom if the Colehaus Cats did that “sit in the taped square on the floor thing,” meaning if someone were to tape off a square on the floor, did anyone (just cats, obviously, though Dad thought about it himself for a moment) sit in it like sitting in a box.
“Hmmm,” said Mom, remembering seeing that trend a year or so ago online. “Let’s give it a try!”
Viola sniffed the blue painters tape and promptly walked away, returning a moment later to positively, most definitely choose NOT to sit in the tape box. C’mon, Viola, you’ll usually do everything! “Nope,” Viola said. And that was that.
A few minutes after Viola walked away, Tessa found the tape box on the floor to her liking.
And she sat there for oh, twenty minutes or so . . .
. . . until she saw Wally Winston Porkchop lounging outside and the blue tape square was forgotten.
Strangely, or perhaps not, no other Colehaus Cat gave one whit about the tape square box. Mom returned to her friend to say one cat liked it, one didn’t and the others couldn’t be bothered. And there we have it.

I love Tessa. I know she’s a bad girl sometimes, but I love her.
This household will sit in or on anything, pile up or wait in line, including picture frames, mats I’ve cut for artwork, and strips of paper I’ve trimmed that happen to fall into a shape of any sort. We all find each other completely amusing.
There was another online trend, about cucumbers and cats…PLEASE DON’T TRY THAT ONE! Gives me a heart attack everytime I see a video of cats jumping out of their fur ’cause there is a cucumber laying on the ground next to them. What that is all about, I don’t know and don’t want to know. A taped square on the floor seems benign, for sure!

If my human puts my hoop that I jump through on the floor, sometimes I will sit in it, but not always.

We’ll roll out his latest creations the week of August 5th. Artists can’t be rushed, apparently. And no one can make a cat do anything he doesn’t want to do. LOL!
This looks like quite a fun experiment, and one Mom says she is definitely going to try. She is thinking about who might sit in it (if anybody) and would bet on Mauricio and/or Cooper Murphy. If she does try it, we’ll let you all know what happens.
