Well, it’s getting to be that time of year. Yep, booming explosion time yet again. Already, the noise in the middle of the night is awful. We’re not going to even complain how we’re NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE FIREWORKS AROUND HERE ANYMORE BY CITY ORDINANCE because:
1) We’re outside of official city limits, just barely however.
2) The police have enough on their hands without rushing out here every five minutes or so that some idiot one lights off something at two in the morning.
3) Who wants to complain when they can hide out in a cool, dimly lit fort for ten days with treats and toys and with Mom reading cat books and Dad with the red dot?

We’re taking the rest of this week and next week off to focus on remaining relaxed and calm over the fourth of July week. And to keep things watered and wet outside because we’re in the middle of a long, long drought and personally, we’d miss our flowers and house should someone set the surrounding fields and greenspace on fire this year.

We are in a fire zone, and this year people are pretty serious about NOT wanting fireworks anywhere near us. I’m pretty glad about that, but we’ll see how it works out next week.

You guys put up with a lot from your humans. We hope the boomers aren’t too bad. We’re sure the noise will start around here this weekend. Most of the time it’s not so bad but….
Whoa! Humans think they’re so smart when they put stuff on our heads for a laugh. Newton doesn’t look one bit amused. Stay safe from the boomers. We don’t have many but every year someone or another sets their yard on fire with one of those things. We’ve already had one.
