Sad Quint is sad because today is Vet Visit day. He’s getting a checkup and a update on his prescription food and Mom’s promised the whole thing won’t take long at all. Cheer up, little man. You’ll have the whole rest of the day to nap in a blanket fort!

Update: Quint’s vet visit went very well and he was a perfect gentleman the entire time. Good job, sweet boy!

This is one of two raccoon mamas visiting us at the moment (photos of the other coming soon). We don’t have a name for her but she’s reasonably comfortable around humans which is not what we’d hope for her. We expect to hear the sounds of trilling babies by month’s end as she brings them up to learn about the water fountain, under-the-bird-feeder leftover snacks, and places to romp and hide.

Maybe Mr. G’s brother Jacks will meet the raccoon babies, or maybe not. We’re sure they’ll find his favorite cool hiding spot under the hostas. Sure does look like a cool place to hang out away from the afternoon heat!

Where’s Mr. G today? Hanging out fountain-side. That boy sure does love moving water.

Hope the kitties are cautious near the raccoons, especially when the wee ones arrive … love all the photos, you have your own “natural world” right at your fingertips!

  2. Dearest Colehaus Cats,
What a lovely garden you have and raccoons residing in it or near it.
Hoping that will not cause any problems with the outdoor kitties!
And for Quint hoping the very best.
It is not easy to deal with aging kitties. Our 3 siblings are 17 years + 2.5 months and they have digestive problems. So hard to manage!
    Hugs,

  7. Good job at the vet’s office, Quint!

  8. meowmeowmans says:

Woohoo! We’re glad Quint’s visit went well. Mr. G, we see you. 🙂

  9. Congratulations, Quint, on the good check-up.

It isn’t what you hope for, unafraid raccoons, the wild things should stay wild for safety, theirs and yours.
