How are you doing today? I’m Newton. I’m called Miss Newton here because so many readers think, because I’m a ginger (dilute ginger, actually), I’m a boy cat. Nope. All girl cat. Ginger girls rule!
Hello, boys! I’m pretty active around here at home. I get on counters and tables. I scratch the couch. I jump onto the boo-fay. I sneak Ruby’s food. And I howl like no one’s bid-ness just because I can. What boy cat could resist all that in one petite package?
When I’m not doing all those things, I’m charming and the apple of my Dad’s eye. I picked him from a local humane society line-up, knowing he was THE ONE. I purr and murrrr at him a lot and he lets me scratch his pant legs. And when I think his attention has gone too far off in some other direction, I get my IKEA mousies from out of the toy boxes and carry them to wherever he’s sitting. Of course, I’m meowing with my mouth full of mousie, all the way up or down the stairs. Wouldn’t you?
Here’s two mousies outside his bathroom door so he knows I know where he’s at. Mom calls them rats because she doesn’t know the pronunciation of what IKEA calls them – GOSIG MUS. Let’s make it easy; they’re mousies to me and Dad. I carry them all over my house and despite looking like I leave them here and there, I place them very strategically. There is a method to this madness. Really!
Here’s my favorite gray mousie on the stairs. I’ve had this mousie since almost forever. I know my Dad won’t miss this one where it is, or miss the meaning of how much I love him. Plus it’s in a great place for me to retrieve when, later, I need to set it beside his dining chair. Nothing like a good ol’ mousie company for dinner.
Well, that’s about all and it’s nap time. Have a nap yourself and a good nap-filled weekend.

Miss Newton, how super special that you spent some quality time chatting with all of us today. We love hearing from you and finding out what all you do. You are gorgeous and obviously very smart. Hemingway walks around with toys in his mouth and makes strange noises, too. Often there’s a pile of toys by Mom’s bedroom door. Here’s wishing you a very special day.

This is great stuff to know about you, Miss Newton. And we think it’s clear your Humane Society pick was a fine choice.
Miss Newton, you are just so cute! We love that you bring your mousie to your dad while you’re meowing – Lexy does that every night!
Miss Newton, I was hoping for a puzzle of you. Prancie agrees that ginger girls rule, she is mischievous too. We have lots of those IKEA mice too and some rats as well.
Miss Newton is without doubt a very attractive lady. Enjoy your mousies and sleep!
Miss Newton…what a fine post about your relationship with your hand picked #1 Dad on Father’s Day weekend.
You are surely gorgeous most talented..MOL I love that you MOL just because you can
Hugs madi your bfff
You are such a sweet girl to leave your mousies for your dad to find.
Miss Newton, we think you’re a fun girl. We would love to play mousey with you.
At the Cat Writer’s Conference, I was talking about the wealth of ginger girls you have (I included Zuzu). If one wants a sign of luck, ginger girls are the way to go! We have one of those IKEA rats too. It freaks Momma out so it’s buried under a bunch of other stuff (THANK YOU, DAD for the … err … kind gift!)
Oh Miss NEWTON! I have wondered why your gorgeous self had the Miss in front but now I can see why! And you and I are buddies because I brin g my posse of schmousies and donkeys to my Mom. I announce with a mouth full too. Love you Miss newton.
Miss Newton, we had NOT really thought about ginger kitties usally being boycats! But now we thought on it, its TRUE. And in the same way, I am a orange/white mancat but I have a distinct black spot, so I think that makes me a man calico which TBT tells me is also unusually. Isnt it fun ta be different?

OMC for a second I thought that was a REAL mouse!
Ginger girls are pawsome!
Boodie does the same thing with her favorite toys! Where she leaves them always means something.
You are such a cute sweetie and your mousie is pretty darn cool too!
Hey Miss Newton, love the pictures. We especially like the lounging one with your paws crossed. Too Cute! As for mousies and naps- how can you go wrong?!
You’re so sweet, Miss Newton. And it sounds like you really love your daddy.
