What a weekend! We can always tell when a dramatic weather change happens. Not because we watch the local news or look out the window, but because the cats let us know. When the weather is cold and changes in a single day to very warm or when we go from hot to very cool, usually, they throw a barf-fest. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds, trust us.
This season, however, some kitties have thrown us something new – Whap-fest. Naturally, Tessa began the whole thing by whapping Viola while asleep in a favorite Ham-mick. When Tessa was done with that (we won’t mention Dad yelling at Tessa to knock it off), Miss Newton decides to start picking on Tessa, who if you recall her current ploy of trying to look innocent, started crying like a baby.
Dad yelled at Miss Newton to knock it off and Miss Newton just wouldn’t stop. So, she got squirted with the water bottle, to which Miss Newton said, “So what? Is that the best you’ve got?”
Miss Newton, once upon a time you were such a sweet cat. Then you started hanging out with Tessa. *tsk tsk*
Meanwhile, after taking a rude wake-up whapping, Viola did some whapping back, prompting Mom to yell this time. Viola, then, sauntered off to a new napping spot and all was good.
Or so we thought.
Not more than five minutes later, Tessa, who has never once been a Ham-mick fan, jumps into Viola’s Ham-mick and pees all over it.
Guess who’s grounded to the master bedroom yet again. Once a year we go through this pee-ing thing with Tessa; never due to a UTI or health reason. Tessa just hates Viola, but only a couple of times a year . . . like when we have a weather change. So odd.
Olivia’s all like, “I’m sleeping here. Nope, didn’t see a thing.”
Sunny says, “Ditto.”
A few hours later, we hear cats talking to one another, this time outside, and not using their indoor voices, either.
Not W and neighbor cat J were having words that we’re pretty sure included a couple learnt from Netflix. Mom went out and stood between the two and after a bit, each went their separate way.
Would it be too much to ask for a quiet week?

Oh my, a whap fest is really never a good thing!
We can relate to asking for a quiet week, but thankfully at least ours doesn’t involve kitties.
Let’s hope this snippy phase passes quickly.
A lot of drama between the cats playing out this week, we notice in your report. Hopefully things will calm down a bit!
Wow, we’ve never heard of behavior changes with weather changes. We deal with allergy differences and Mom getting migraines and various other things, but never behavior. Misty May is always mean to Astrid, Callisto Jo and Lisbeth are constantly having his fests. And peeing on other’s belongings is a tried and true method of acting out. Hope things settle down at your house. Try some Comfort Zone for scratching and urine marking. That’s our new go-to. Good luck. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
So much going on in this season finale of Colehouse Cats, hehehehe!
Buster acquired a bad habit of peeing in the garage and everywhere for that matter and nothing related to UTI either.
Y’know…the same stuff happens here. When the windows get opened for the first time, we seem to be a bit on edge with each other. The mom says it’s the smells from outside that make us a little crazy.
when you live with cats it would indeed be too much to ask for a quiet week! Hope things settle down–my guys get stirred up by changes in weather too–mostly Amarula who gives Zulu and Frodo extra whaps to keep them in line!
My gosh you guys! Take it easy…and knock off the whapping. For pity sake, don’t start laying on bitey’s!
Spring is time for hissy spitt-iness. paws crossed it will pass as quickly as it arrived Hugs madi and mom

Sammy acts up like that sometime too. A calming collar seems to help.
Sounds like everyone has spring fever at your place.
Seems like everyone got out of their sleeping spots on the wrong side. Hope peace comes to Colehaus soon.
Wow, talk about drama!
They all look innocent to me 😉
It never ends does it … just when you THINK it’s over, another cat takes the helm of the crazy.
My goodness. You guys had a real Romper Room going! You better watch out ‘cuz humans don’t always like that noise and whappy paws stuff. Humans will always love us, but sometimes they don’t have patience like we all do. MOL!!!
Stereo purrs………Hemingway and Steinbeck
I can imagine Dad yelling, “I don’t care who started it, but I’m gonna end it!!!”
