After a record-setting wet winter, the sun finally peeked out… a few weeks ago! Ah, there’s nothing like spring whiffies and looking forward to the year’s first walk around the garden… again, a few weeks ago. I know my flowers have really taken off and I can’t wait to sink my nose in every one of them.
But apparently, Mom and Dad had a lot of winter cleanup to do. Said if they didn’t spend days upon days out there (really, it was more like three weeks), I wouldn’t even see my flowers.
So… all this had to happen first:
Cement walkways had to be swept, scrubbed, and cleaned.
Fall leaves had to be raked and picked up.
Patio furniture had to be scrubbed and set up.
And as you might remember, our fountain needed “important” work before anything else could happen. But finally, finally:
Yeah, I *might* have been a little antsy to get to my garden flowers. I nearly tugged the leash out of Dad’s hand! C’mon, Dad, hurry up!
I’m a little partial toward these orange flowers. Gee, I wonder why. MOL!
I wanted to stay out there for hours… but it was turning dusky and our new, next door rental house neighbors were being REALLY, REALLY LOUD, so me and Dad made one more quick lap around the garden and called it a night.
Thanks, Mom, for not coming up with yet another excuse forgetting about my walk. Anytime you’re ready to set up my studio, I’m more than ready to dive into some paint!
Ohhhh what a beautiful garden and I agree the orange flowers are very purrty and ohhhh the lavender ones at the end. What color do you get when you mix a smidgen of orange and lavender together?
Hugs madi your bfff
“Hmm, a smidgen of orange and lavender together? My Mom says mud but with a touch of time to let one color dry, I say you get beauti-mus color! MOL!”
