It’s Tax Day here in the states and I thought I’d share with you some of my best Tax Day hangouts for you know, when you’d rather do anything else but fill out those forms and write out that check.
Here I am in my fort. Invite into such is by special circumstance only. Mom had to make arrangements well in advance to be allowed in. While my fort isn’t a boys-only club, the only girls allowed are my sister Olivia and mom.
Forts are good if your taxes are very complicated and you need to hide out for a while. I’ll bet the government couldn’t hear you weeping in here, if you felt the need to.

Here I am exposed, out in the open in a hammick. I recommend this hangout if you’re a bit more comfortable with your tax situation. They take a little, you keep a little much like I’m keeping this kickstick. Sure, it’s my bigger sister Pia’s kickstick, in theory. But today, it’s mine. Tomorrow, it’ll be gone. Note that mom cut off one of the hammick legs in this photo making it appear I may be floating in air. This is a shout out to all those tax payers who feel as though not much is holding them up. I feel your pain. Truly, I do.

Lastly, here I am in my box. This is the most comfortable hangout and best suited for those who have nothing to hide and expect a nice, fat refund much like I expect treats to be served on a silver tray shortly. Those treats are coming, right mom?

I just read that the US Postal Service is NOT staying open to midnight tonight! I thought that was a tradition, for those last minute filers. Quint, I finished our taxes a week ago, but from January 1 until then, I hid in boxes, under counters, and everywhere else I could, avoiding those ugly forms.

Boxes are my go-to comfort spot. That’s where I was early on when a big refund was hinted at. Since then, I’ve spent time in my fort and on the hammick. If I end up back in the fort today, you can bet I’ll do my part to sell some more paintings!
If my human didn’t have an accountant doing her taxes, she’d be wanting to crawl into a box just about now!
