On this, the last day of April 2021, we thought, “What a fine day for some facts or fibs! It’s been a while since we did that.” So, here we go. We’re listing five statements that may or may not be true. Two are absolute truths and three are wild statements without a shred of honesty whatsoever. Think you know these Colehaus Cats?
1 – Since Mom works away from home so much now and Dad works from home due to the pandemic, Pia has developed a serious crush on Dad. So much of a crush, she peeps at him constantly for him to brush her, but when he tries, she coyishly runs away and flirts with him from afar.
2 – A bird once flew into our kitchen through a temporarily opened screen door and no cat gave a care. It fluttered around a bit and then, perhaps sensing apathy all around, it promptly flew back outside.
3 – Viola has an outdoor neighbor cat boyfriend who visits almost every day. She’s pretty sure she’s not his one and only.
4 – Olivia is afraid of all bugs. And why not? Ewwwww!
5 – Once a rowdy, independent, trouble-prone cat, Tessa has mellowed with age and dare we say, has become snuggly and lovey.
So, how’d you do?

Answers: Numbers 1 and 5 are facts. Pia pesters Dad morning and night for brushies and yet, she dislikes brushies. He does give her lots of pets and scritches, though and she likes that just fine. Tessa, once known as Danger Cat, hasn’t flirted with danger in, hmm, a long time. We’re not going to tempt fate by looking up the exact last date. Let’s just enjoy having a lovey tuxie girl at the moment, okay?
Numbers 2, 3, and 4 are fibs, and how could anyone not see that? A bird inside our house would almost instantly find that Quint really, really, REALLY wanted it as a friend/toy/dinner. Viola, also known as Miss VERY MUCH Independent, probably doesn’t care one whit about outside cats, let alone boy cats. “I don’t need no boy cat,” is her motto. And Olivia doesn’t get a shot at any bugs that find their way inside. Pia takes care of all those creepy, crawly things in record time, leaving Olivia to sit there looking very pretty and bug-free.

I guessed right! Sometimes the swallows fly in through the open doors in the summer. We can usually carefully catch them in the windows and release them, but when Eric and Flynn were here everything went flying. We had to try and grab them first and shut them in the bedroom.
Pia, all flirty with your dad man!
I got one right!
Those were fun reading, I did get 2 right!
I guessed 3 and 5 were correct so I got one. 🙂
