We did a lot of cleaning over the weekend, pre-spring cleaning, if you will. Nothing was off limits. Cabinets were organized. Donation piles were made. And yet for all the scrubbing, wiping, and vacuuming, we have to face the cold, hard facts.
We let things go too long and it would now appear we’re infested with…
Counter Seals.
It’s so bad, they’ve taken over the short wall dividing the kitchen and living room too. How could we have not noticed this before? How did we not see this happening right under our own noses?
Thank goodness! Here’s a singular Counter Seal and we’ve discovered that individually, they aren’t too hard to clean up. A scoop, a wipe, and all is good.
But this one might require some serious elbow grease. The dreaded Ledge Seal is the poofiest and toughest one to date. Please, take it from us. Get a jump on that cleaning now and don’t let this happen at your place.

Mom went to the International Cat Show in Portland (Oregon) over the weekend and saw adorable Summer competing against so many gorgeous cats. She knew she was every bit as gorgeous, and even more so and the judges seemed to like her.
Our Mom also met Summer’s half-brother Chill Factor, or Chilly for short. He is an absolutely beautiful unusual blue Somali with peach undertones. We were sad to hear the earlier judges on Saturday didn’t seem to think he was anything special when our Mom assured us he is magnificent. She also said her photo here of him does not do him justice. And if you could see him give his Mom kisses and loving, you’d completely fall under his spell.
Lastly, our Mom took lots of photos of some of the other kitties there and she said she tried extra hard to take pictures of cats other than gingers (though some of us wonder what would be so wrong about that?).
It’s pawsome that you got to meet Summer. And our Mom is laughing over the counter seal issue.. though WE’re sure we don’t know why.
Yep, cleaning up causes a ruckus at our place too! That’s why we don’t do it often…hahahaha! Summer and Chilly are magnificent!
that Ledge Seal looks like a big one….not sure that is going to come out 🙂
glad you had fun at the cat show
What a lovely time to meet Summer. And counter seals are becoming an epidemic in your house.

My human and I enjoyed seeing you again, and Chilly loved meeting you! But then, he loves meeting everybody. It turned out that he got more finals than me – 7 to my 5! So he did get some love from the judges after all.
“counter seals” LOVE IT!! LOVE that you got to see Summer too! We would have loved that! catchatwithcarenandcody
Wow, that’s some ledge seal. We’ve never seen one so big. Good luck with removing it. 😉
Yeah, we had to get out the scrapper and eventually, a pry bar. Tough little booger.
Oh, thanks for the warning! We could see this happening to us! 🙂 The Sadie seal would be a tough one with a lot of attitude!

Hugs madi your bfff
Esses gatos são lindos, pra mim todos merecem o primeiro prêmio!
Thank you for the warning. I will keep a careful watch for a counter seal here. The ledge seal looks very difficult to shift. That was nice for your mum to meet Summer and Chilly.
Your Mom is so lucky that she got to meet Summer. We also have a counter seal problem, but I don’t mind 🙂
Those counter seals look pretty serious! We sometimes get table seals, but they are always followed by “what do you think you’re doing?” so they happen more when we think the humans aren’t looking!
Uhhh… I… I mean we’d be happy to help you with that ginger ledge seal issue… just sayin’… Dexter
