. . . and you know what I don’t appreciate? Being called Anteater. You’d think I was doing this household a favor by hunting down and ridding this place of pesky and insistent ants. And what do I get for it? Called names.
Beside that upset stomach I get from eating ants, beside all that unpleasantness, I search high and low for those wee small teensy tiny crawling things. Do you remember when my Mom used to praise me for being the best bug hunter ever? I remember that. Of course, I whapped the bugs back then. I didn’t know some were soooo tasty.
I’m not any more inclined to give up hunting for and eating ants than my Mom and Dad are in labeling me Anteater. Maybe it’s a title I should carry proudly. I’ll be sure to tell the next ant I find that I’m only doing what my title insists I do.
Now that I’m doing two jobs as a cat AND as an Anteater, let’s talk about a raise . . .
