If you think Pia looks irritated here, you’d be right. She is. You see, since Mom’s job hours and days changed, Pia’s been leaving not-so-little, stinky “hints” in the main bedroom and bathroom while Mom takes her morning shower. After two weeks of this new daily behavior, Mom put her foot down not too far from the latest pile and declared, “That’s it. No more cats in the bedroom.”
She shooed all the cats out of the room. Yes, even those who were innocent, and she closed the door. There hasn’t been a cat in the bedroom since and no accidents either, though there were a couple of displeased cats.
Quint wasn’t happy in the least over the new arrangement. No more overnight blanket forts for Quint? Mom remedied that by draping his fort blanket over the couch downstairs. Sure, it’s not the decor look Mom likes but Quint is happy and he doesn’t scratch the dickens out of the bedroom door half the night.
Extra bonus: Pia alternates between Quint’s downstairs blanket and sleeping on one of Viola’s kitchen chair covers. And speaking of what Viola thinks of the new mix-up arrangement:
Viola doesn’t mind the change one bit. She’s a downstairs sleeper, in her usual covered kitchen chair spot. She above all that bedroom/no bedroom drama.
And what does Tessa think? Tessa used to snuggle up with Quint overnight. But apparently, and so far, she’s fine with a fleecy blanket over the back of the couch and Quint nearby snuggled in his couch blanket fort.
No more stinky morning bedroom/bathroom gifts, everyone has a snuggly spot, and Mom’s actually sleeping through the night for the first time in years. Looks like a win all around. So far.

Wow, sleeping through the night…what a concept!
Pia, really now.
I can’t imagine sleeping through the night and all I have is Katie Isabella! Pia, what in the world were you thinking???
It is clever if you could solve that ‘stinky hints’ puzzle by tagging it to Pia.
But sleeping through the night is a blessing.
Our Spooky boy laid right on my tummy two nights ago… he of course woke me up.
But in general they are so sweet!
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Oh Pia! But it sounds like you did your mom a favour in the long run.
You poor kitties. We have a litterbox in the bedroom for the few that are allowed in there. It can be a pain to get up in the middle of the night and remove a stinky.
Hmm, that does sound like a winning solution. So far!
