Mom thought our five year blogoversary was this week. WRONG-O! It’s next week so we’re all going to have to wait another week before she wows us with some clever blog banter over that. *sigh* So hard to find good help nowadays…
Mom: Yes, it’s next week, not today. Geesh! Okay, today’s post title is a wee bit misleading. Festivus was twenty days ago. Where’d the time go?
That doesn’t mean we still can’t celebrate, especially when a certain Festivus package arrived shortly after stuffed with super cool gifts won in the Finally Festivus post over at 15 and Meowing.com and in which certain kitties here aired their grievances like no one’s business! Just read this:
“Oh, a Festivus for the rest of us! How we LOVE this day, but our Mom didn’t this year. And that’s just the start of our grievances! We just learned she didn’t buy us any presents this year except for some buzzy Hex Bug thing that quite frankly, is more annoying than “fun.” Dad’s slacked twice last week on playtime before bed and Mom took over his bedtime brushie sessions with us. It’s just not the same, trust us! Mom washed all our bedding and blankets on Monday and now, none of us remember where we slept because all our smells have been replaced with Snuggle dryer sheet smell! Dad bought us Sureflap feeders last month and we’re forced to eat from tiny plastic bowls now instead of the GI-NORMOUS open glass bowl most of us grew up with, not to mention having to stand there and wait one half nanosecond for the thing to open. So unfair! Quint and Pia got yelled at for chasing each other just tonight and Miss Newton’s name was mentioned in the same sentence as coal. How are we to get through this season with all that history behind us? Thank goodness we have a platform like Festivus in which to air our grievances ’cause we have plenty!”
Miss Newton was not at all amused about mentioned her name in the same sentence as coal.
But rather than boringly tell you about the package contents – a note from Phoebe thanking us for attending her Festivus party, the great ninth season of Seinfeld DVD that contains the Festivus episode (the 166th episode that started it all), the crocheted toys all the Colehaus Cats can’t ever get enough of, and the Grinchy mat that smells like the most awesome-ist awesome sauce in all the world – we thought we’d let Sunny tell the story in photos.
It started with a package.
A wonderful package that Sunny was determined to investigate first.
Naturally, Sunny went straight for the crocheted toys that Ellen and Phoebe seem to know the Colehaus Cats L.O.V.E.
This chick-hen drumstick here is mine!
The drumstick was forgotten once Sunny got a good whiff of the Grinchy mat. She airs her grievances… with well-placed rabbit kicks.
*nom nom nom*
Temporarily forgetting the Seinfeld DVD, Sunny got impatient for Dad to open it.
Meanwhile, someone woke up from their beauty nap.
Hey, what’s in here?
Zuzu: Exactly what’s going on here?
These gifts, they need inspecting and I’m inspecting them and whoa! They smell…. wonderful! I love them! This mat smells especially intoxicating. The smell…. It might sound crazy but I just can’t get enough of the smell. It’s making me feel…. silly! Seriously, you need to get a good whiff of this…
But wait. Pull my finger…
Don’t worry about the claws at the end. Really, just pull my finger…. WHEEEE!
I think, no, I know I’m going to lay here forever. Thank you, Ellen! Thank you Phoebe! Thank you 15 and meowing kitties! Purrs and sloppy kisses to you all!
Does this mat make me look high?
After proper inspection, Pia liberates the crocheted toys from the “Too High to be Grinchy” duo. Everyone knows Pia loves a good crocheted toy!
Thank you Ellen and Phoebe!

Sweet Madi, we bet you are much nicer and less inclined to find trouble than your almost twin Tessa. 🙂
What an adorable package! We love those drumsticks too! I’m also noticing that Sunny looks quite a bit like Lucy. <3
Yes, Sunny could be Lucy’s older twin!
That’s what Angel and Chuck looked like when they received a package from Ellen and Phoebe! Stoned and happy…
I gotta love a kitty that enjoys Seinfeld!
That was sure a lot of fun!
It made my day to see Sunny enjoying herself so thoroughly!

Wow, what a long list of grievances you have!
Thank you for this sweet post. I love seeing kitties enjoying the toys and mats that I make. Start recording your grievances because Phoebe is already planning another Festivus party for 2017. 🙂 XO
Whoa! Miss Ellen was dealing in illicit nip and Sunny was eating it up! Brings a smile to our faces.
