The Dad is a good chef and one of his specialties is a wonderful wild rice dish that’s reserved just for the holidays. The recipe originally came from an old Dean & Deluca cookbook that Dad loves, and includes things like toasted pine nuts and applewood smoked bacon.
But this past year, the dish came with a high price.
Apparently, this is what happens when the Dad decides to cook instead of paying one hundred percent attention to a certain ginger girl. That page is completely ripped, shredded! And who exactly was the guilty party?
Well, here’s Miss Newton for you, perhaps just now mulling over the consequences of her actions*. That was no way to get attention, girl.
*The shredded pleather couch is mostly courtesy of a young, newly-adopted Patrol Sergeant Zuzu two years ago before we could train not to do so… only to have both Miss Newton and Pia pick up the habit. *sigh*
You’d better have a good excuse for that Miss Newton.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Oh no not the cook book. There is not any material left on our chairs. Totally taken off so we know that feeling very well. All of kitties here use just as many things as we can find to use as scratching posts. Anyway, you all have a great day.
Oh dear! Scratched up stuff, is no good.
Miss Newton, your face says you are planning another few pages!!!
Miss Newton, I agree with Katie Isabella’s comment! Go get ’em!
It’s a ginger thing!

Uh oh, someone is in the dog house!
You mean you’re NOT supposed to scratch either book pages or pleather? Wow. You learn something new every day!
apparently the recipe did not pass inspection
Well, Miss Newton, I guess you weren’t hungry for rice?
oh dear Miss Newton…well we hope that the page could be taped back together! (we have a sofa that looks like that)
Oh my that expression says IT ALL!!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyy she IS upset!!!!!!! catchatwithcarenandcody
Interesting. We’ve never thought about shredding books. Something new for us to do! 🙂
Miss Newton, Astrid wants to know if you ate any of your shreddings? She would have. We say, if your dad hasn’t memorized the recipe by now, it’s his fault if he can’t make that dish anymore. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
From now on..your dad only have one choice to do…tee..heh.
Oh Miss Newton, surely your dad has other copies of his recipe.
Happy 2016. We appreciate the card from you. We are so grateful.
We are back,
