Here we are in a new year and here are Tessa and Viola doing the same old thing. Except they aren’t. They’re watching Mom set up a ladder.
See that brown wall behind them? Since Mom’s off today, that wall’s getting a couple of fresh coats of paint in a much lighter not-quite-white color. Over the last two years, Mom’s been determined to rid our house of So Much Brown, colors she herself painted on way back in 2010 when designer colors like mocha, latte, and cappuccino were all the rage and we were told Dad had to move to Boise for work within a three-week timeline. Thankfully, that didn’t happen.
Can’t do anything about the brown couch or the brown entertainment wall unit or the brown/orange varnish woodwork throughout but slowly colors are changing! New year, new look!

It is nice to have a change and brighten things up, but mochas and lattes are fine when you consider what we did. When we were first married (1971) can you believe we painted the bedroom sea green with a light blue trim! The lounge was worse with orange walls with a mid green trim. We thought it looked trendy. Thank goodness tastes change!!
Boy your mom is a busy bee!
Stay away from fresh paint, kitties!
Changing paint can be so uplifting!!!
We plan on painting this week too – we’re prepped for keeping kittie toesies out of the paint – MOL! You two look so cute today, have fun snoopervising.
Nice to see Viola and Tessa in their snoopervising positions! Happy New Year!
Y’all make sure to not help, just snooze the time away!
Yes new year new look is a great idea. I hope you all have a happy and healthy 2022! XO
Bet it’ll look nice wif da new look!
I’ve always heard one can’t go wrong with a shade of white!
We are all about fresh coats of paint around here!
Wow, your mom sure is industrious! We bet the new coat of paint looks great.
