We’ve got awards! And frankly, we’re surprised Mom got them up without waiting around for Christmouse or something to share with you all. That Mom! We loves her though.
Timmy Tomcat of Tomcat Commentary by Tim shared Bionic Basil’s Best Kitty Blogger in the Cosmos award! Yippee! We love Basil! And Timmy is Paw-some! Thank you, Tim!
We need to share this award with 5 others and this is the really hard part because some of you already have been awarded it and some others don’t have time for awards (our Mom is nodding her head for some reason). But just 5? We can’t do it! *heads hanging*
We’d love to share it with everyone here because we think you are all Best Kitty Bloggers in the Cosmos. That’s what’s called a “No Brainer!” Please feel free to pass this award along to other Best Kitty Bloggers because you know there are a lot out there.
The other gorgeous award is from those sweeties Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo over at the beautiful blog called The Cat on my Head. We enjoy visiting with all the Kitties Blue and love their photos.
This award requires listing six favorite things and then passing it along. Hmm, this might be too easy!
Maxx: My favorite thing is having my room all to myself so I can sleep on the bed at Dad’s feet.
Ruby Roo: Oh, really? ‘Cause the last time I looked, I’m the one who sleeps at Dad’s feet and that is my favorite thing in all the world!
Miss Newton: Well, my favorite thing is just Dad. I don’t care about his feet. I’ll take him any old way. He’s just my favorite thing ever!
Tessa: My favorite thing is that thing called curiosity. Why, without that, I’d be a boring cat! *sticks out tongue with disgust*
Pia Bean: Mom is my favorite thing – she knows how to give my brushies purr-fectly, though Miss Newton comes in a close second. I love my big sister!
Olivia: Brushies are the bestest, most favorite-est thing in the whole world!
Bonus Favorite – Quint: Gosh, it’s hard to have just one favorite. Is that the rule? Just one? Well, I can’t pick just one! I love going outside and sniffing flowers, I love watching the sky and clouds, I love my Mom and Dad, I love my mousies and playing fetch, I love painting and Greenies and snuggling and daytime naps. Okay, now you pick one from that pile and I’ll be okay with your choice.
Thanks, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo. Because we’d really, REALLY like everyone to have this award too but don’t want to cheese out twice, we’d like to pass this award along specifically to:
– Molly the Wally
– Hannah and Lucy
– Marg’s Animals
and
– Madi and Mom Down Home in NC.

Finally, the bee-bees! It’s been a long while since we highlighted any of the visitors to Camp Colehaus. So what perfect timing than last evening when Sunny, a sometimes daylight-visiting raccoon, brought her three babies to visit for the first time!
Sunny first came to visit a year ago as a youngish girl with a slight limp. She’d politely munch on cat food we foolishly left out for late night snacker Geoffrey before waddling off to parts unknown. A few months ago, Sunny spent half an evening out in our tiny backyard way up in a tall cedar when Ms. Colehaus accidently frightened her while weeding. There, Sunny napped and scratched and watched the evening turn to dark before coming down to drink and wade in our fountain.
We’re happy to have a wild animal bring her offspring back here to her old stomping ground and it’s something we’ve hoped would happen once in our lifetime. We’ve lived here fourteen years and this is a first for us.
Now, we know what you’re probably thinking: “Oh, you silly people! You don’t want any raccoon action over there!” And you’d be mostly right but only because of one of our neighbors is deathly afraid of all wildlife (yes, funny, since our development backs up to a wildlife-laden creek, a greenspace and a couple of miles of dairy farmland all surrounded by forest and they just HAD to have known that before moving in six years ago – we think it’s a “new” issue) and we don’t want anyone doing anything rash like calling a raccoon-removal service.
The thing is all us neighbors keep our garbage secure and we, for one, don’t leave food out anymore for the neighborhood strays, Geoffrey and Scruffy. None of the Colehaus Cats go outside (other than to the V-E-T) and our one nice next door neighbor thinks they are cute too! Can’t we all just get along?
The baby raccoons are very cute and Sunny their Mom must have sensed that you wouldn’t hurt her babies.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Oh they are so sweet 🙂 Big conCats on the lovely awards xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Wow, thanks friends for all the nice things you said about us. The feeling is sure mutual. If it’s okay, can mom print on our blog what you all said? Raccoons, we get those too. Last night they came just to get water out of our bowl. We DO NOT leave our food out at night, unless one of the human’s forgets it. Our big problem is skunks. Unlike the raccoons, they have not figured out how to get on the catio. But one of our neighbors told our dad that he saw six on our front lawn a couple nights ago. And we live in the city? We do not like them. They stink up the place. Have a great remainder of the week. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Absolutely you can print what we said. Our Mom stands behind everything thing we say! Thank you again! Sorry about the stinky skunks. We don’t seem to have a single one for miles! Purrs…
OMD thank you so much for our award. We will pop it on tomorrows post and onto our awards page. We are thrilled. LOL we agree live and let live and yes they are cute. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
OMC!!!! The babies are so cute…we luvluvluv raccoons. Mom had one when she was very young, like about 3… It was brought to her Dad who was known for having a knack with wildlife. It was a baby with eyes still shut so they bottle fed Jinkers and then when he was mature, a year maybe??…her Dad released him near a lake. Maybe it was wring but Mom didn’t know back then and she loved Jinkers.
Mom said that her dad used to have one of those little raccoons as a pet when he was young. We think they are very cute, but we love most fur people. At least all of you have lots of fun things to watch! 🙂

What WONDERFUL favourite things you all have!
We’ve got the rockies here, too. Peeps think they’re cute. I kind of keep my distance but, to be honest, they really are quite handsome.
Purrs,
Nissy
Congratulations on your awards!
Raccoons aren’t found here but Mommy thinks they are soooo cute! We have civet cats who sometimes play on our ceiling (and pee and poop there too!). One of our neighbor trapped a poor little civet cat and had it taken away which made Mommy very sad.
ConCATulations on your well-deserved award, pals! WE LOVE your six plus bonus favorite things!
Those raccoons are cute, if you ask us!
CONCATULATIONS on your wonderful awards!
Thank you thank you thank you for the lovely award.
Mom and I will work on posting it after we have announced our Scavenger
Hunt winner.
Hugs Madi and Mom
Concatulations on your awards! We have a couple of crazy raccoons who get into the enclosed patio sometimes. My human has to remember to close it off if the dog has left any dry food in her dish.
Congrats and the awards! I love raccoons. Those are sweet pics. They’re incredibly intelligent. We had a family living under out porch for years and never a had a problem with the cats who gave them a wide berth. Sadly one raccoon got hit by a car, dragged himself back to the porch and we had to call wildlife services. Poor thing was too badly hurt and they shot and killed on our driveway. It was horrible and we haven’t had any raccoons since.
Congratulations on your awards! Sounds like your dad is very popular 🙂
These baby raccoons are very cute!
We don’t have raccoons but love that you saw the babies!!! ConCats on your awards :)) Quint’s favourite things are just so ….. Quint!! mol

Congrats on your awards, we love your favorite things! And your visitors are super-cute!
concats on the awards! great fav’rites! The raccoons are cool! we think it would be fun to have them hanging out in the yard – interesting reality tv! There are fields near our house and our mom saw one once (even some skunks!) but none have ventured into our neighborhood.
PIp, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Holy CAT! You have a fambly out there! We had a red fox in our front yard the other day, but no bee bees – uhm *cough* except for the baby bunny Allie uhm, picked up. (we don’t THINK she hurt it, but it didn’t make it… 🙁
Congrats on your awardI love you favourite things list. And I think its really fab that you have Racoons coming to visit,I used to have a hedgehog in our garden he stayed with us for a couple of months till he decided to move on,xx Speedy
Parabéns pelos prêmios amigos!
Como os bebês guaxinins são bonitos, eu acho que vocês tem sorte de ter alguns guaxinins perto.
Cuteness! We love to see the raccoons. There are some fatty ones in our neighborhood because we’ve got a huge avocado tree out front, so all the critters in the area feast on the huge avocados and gain lots of weight. One day the lady found raccoon footprints coming up and down in our stairwell and that reminded her that she needed to wash all the dirt away and so now we don’t know if they’ve been going up and down more or not. Prolly not, once they found there’s no food at the top.
